Chen Wei-Chen: Household Items 2026: Solo Exhibition

This exhibition takes interior furniture as its point of departure, examining the balance between functionality and form.

Within a single object, how can "form" and "function" each fulfill their roles in a way that responds to the original intention of its design? Artist Chen Wei-Chen navigates the boundary between these two dimensions, questioning whether design ultimately serves the user or defines the object itself. Through the transformation and reinterpretation of furniture forms, the exhibition reconsiders how everyday objects are defined, used, and perceived, while revealing the multiple possibilities of "household items" as both functional objects and sculptural forms.
