Interview 5 Dec 2021 「我想我感興趣的是自在的女性形態，她是她自己，她可以嫉妒，可以害羞，可以靜默，可以惡語相向。」—侯辰璐 藝術使我們能夠審視作為人類的意義、使我們能夠跨距離的交流、使我們團結在一起。 2020年至今，我們面臨著全球疫情危機。另一個角度而言，自由的限制或許能成為藝術的再進化。這次，我們邀請國內外藝術家進行訪談，聊聊他們的「新日常」。 Q. 嗨辰璐，妳的日常工作步驟是什麼? H. 比較混亂。 目前的工作室是我居所的一個房間，而且是在跟我先生共用，我們叫它「The Red Room」紅屋，因為牆面都是紅色的，所以目前生活和工作是完全攪在一起的。大概起床後吃點兒東西，咖啡提提神兒，就開始琢磨干點兒啥，幹活讓我不焦慮。經常同時開始的幾個不同的東西里遊走，因為有時候發現比較難專注於一件東西上。 Q. 妳如何渡過疫情，尤其是在羅德島（Rhode Island）? H. 各地的疫情下的生活其實都大同小異吧，重複和空白，還有就是基於個人經歷的很多思考。 去年夏天的時候還好，因為我的好朋友們都還在普羅維登斯，後來他們6月份畢業，都很快搬離羅德島了，一個去了三藩市，一個去了紐約。冬天就很難熬了，羅德島冬天很長，11月底到4月初，天很早就黑了，老實說有兩個多月我每天都在哭。 2020年這邊也發生了很多事，比如最大規模的黑人平權遊行、選舉、頻發的對於亞裔的仇視案件。老實說這些議題在中國那種單一的政治和種族環境下是很少被討論的，我也學習跟思考了很多。 另外還有一些個人跟父母親的關係的反思，我在獨生子女政策下出生，沒有兄弟姐妹，18歲大學開始就搬離了家。因為疫情的影響，已經一年半沒能回家看看父母朋友，也是第一次開始體會思鄉原來是一個很瑣碎的、對於抽象環境的渴望，也是一種身體的物理性的反應。 再就是領養了一隻玳瑁貓，命名Mother Markos。 Q. 身為藝術家，妳的日常生活因封城改變了多少呢？ H. 隔離減緩了我做作品的速度。隔離帶來的是一種整個社會運轉的停滯，這種停滯又影響了最細微的個體的生活習慣。我就意識到這種最細微的生活習慣的改變，其實讓生活缺少了很多之前因為太細微而被忽視的樂趣跟刺激，這種轉變讓我變得特別遲鈍。 另外隔離期間學校，各種藝術工作室也都關了，沒有地方燒製陶瓷的東西，所以基本上陶的部分就停掉了，目前還有兩件沒有燒製的小雕塑呆在架子上。再就是隔離期間我開始練貝斯，目前有一個四人樂隊，差不多每週都會排練一次。 Q. 疫情期間妳都吃什麼？ H. 主要自己做，一是因為便宜，另一個動力來自於對正宗中餐的渴求。經過這段時間的練習，廚藝精進很多。再來就是下外送單了，這期間絕大部分的餐館因為要生存還在持續營業，只外送，不提供堂食，叫最多的幾家有Apsara，一家柬埔寨餐廳。 Chef... Interview 6 Nov 2021 「有一種工作，時間不定、地點彈性，或許沒有穩定收入，卻能創造無限的產值。你可以決定自己的去留，沒有退休年齡限制，它叫做藝術創作者，也是我的職務。」—陳松志 藝術使我們能夠審視作為人類的意義、使我們能夠跨距離的交流、使我們團結在一起。 2020年至今，我們面臨著全球疫情危機。另一個角度而言，自由的限制或許能成為藝術的再進化。這次，我們邀請國內外藝術家進行訪談，聊聊他們的「新日常」。 Q. 嗨松志，當你看到空蕩蕩的畫廊時，你首先想到的是什麼？ C. 我會很好奇這個空間曾經是怎麼樣子怎麼樣？並會從一些留有的線索來想像這個空間的過去。如果我需要處理它，我會盡可能保有它原本的特質。空蕩的空間很容易強調出建築物本身的邊界特質，特別會讓身處在其中的人有一種跟場所的感覺拉扯，人的好奇心就容易被引導出來。我有滿多作品實質上也運用到這樣的空場特質，透過最少的介入以及觀眾自己的感覺發現，帶出人和場所間之間的敏感關係。 Q. 在你作品中時常會讓觀眾有著視覺、觸覺等感受，那麼你在創作時是如何平衡這些觀感的呢？它們對作品而言的重要性有著先後順序嗎? C. 人的感覺是連動的，也因為每個人的感受性都有所差異，所以這些感覺條件的處理就不能過度預設。我會希望作品和人之間有一種活絡的狀態，當代藝術不一定要按照創作者的步驟次序來感受它，有時候顛倒的視覺與感覺邏輯反而會激起不一樣思考。對我而言發現與想像的趣味更是重要。 Q. 很好奇作為一個使用現成物媒材的藝術家是先有作品的概念，然後才去搜集媒材。抑或透過搜集現成物的觀看找尋可搭配的可能性呢？（有點像畫家觀看自己的草圖集） C. 我平常的感覺收集其實就是隨拍，尤其是我去一個陌生的環境旅行或短居。在平常的生活中把引起我興趣的東西拍下來，那其實就是一個我的資料庫。我比較是一個先有空間才再有計劃介入的創作類型，不同的創作現場，我就會去設想在什麼樣的條件下可以把我的生活發現收集，透過展出現場強化出來，發酵成我的創作，因此空間與材料它們基本上是相互倚賴的連動關係。 Q. 你過去的作品大量使用工業的、廉價的日常用品？你總是在材料上進行加工或破壞，你對消費主義與現代生活中的人性看法是什麼？ C. 會選擇這些大量廉價的生活用品其實就主要是在回應這些人人都有，天天常見的生活部分。我其實不批判消費主義，因為消費本身本來就是生活常態，我倒是比較關心這些同樣的物被不同的人所使用所產生不同的事件本身，這就是所謂的「人味」，這些被創造或保留下來的痕跡也是我們生活中人與人的差異，它其實是最珍貴的部分。 過去我有一個作品《微弱的美感》，作品從一個被現實摧毀的物質透過創作者的介入行動，來完成一個建構與毀壞並存的時間之牆，它像是一個唯美的抽象畫面，但同時也是一個持續不斷在變化的顯現，這作品其實反映著我們面對自然與人為之間相互拉扯的矛盾，完整很重要，但物質與生命的缺口更不能忽略。 Q. 在你作品中時常可以感受到一種淒美或對生命感嘆的詩意，有沒有什麼樣的文學是對你的創作生涯有著重大影響？ C. 我的書櫃中有一本晚唐詩人李商隱的詩集（很陽春的一本舊書），我常常在做展覽的時候會去翻閱它，我的很多展覽及作品名稱都是從他的詩詞中引用而來。對我來講，他詩中有著對繁華落盡的之時對時間、空間及身份上的寄情。他字裡行間的『不圓滿』給了我很多的想像與引介，幾個字幾句話可以有很多的寓意，那是詩這個文體獨有的魅力。 Q. 你有很豐富的駐地經驗，最遠還去到埃及開羅，多年的異地駐地生活經驗對你的創作有什麼影響？ C. 2005年秋天是我正式從學院畢業離開，正式成為一個獨立創作者。同年的冬天，我受到台北國際藝術村的獎助意外地隻身前往了埃及開羅，開啟了我首次在異地駐地創作的體驗。那是我的生活經驗中第一回離開熟悉的環境在完全不同的文化中用生活去發現自己，並從中發酵成為個人的創作脈絡。後續的幾些年間我相繼參與了幾項長期的國際藝術駐地創作計劃在法國巴黎、韓國高陽、美國紐約、以及日本橫濱。對我來說，有一個暫時旅居於異地的創作身份，那像是一種自己跟環境的兩相真空的狀態，這巧妙地感受不在於語言的溝通，而是這份身體與環境暫時性的共存，像是隱形的一道範圍拉開了身份、事件的特殊視線與觀點。我的學院教育都是在台灣養成的，但我其實是在這些不算短的時間，讓我有機會走出我的舒適圈去看看這個多變的世界。我在埃及見識到了一個這麼瑰麗的文明，如何在時代的洪流中敗退下來，人類如何在物質的存續中相信精神靈魂會再回來。在法國，很多人抱怨法國人的慢，但時間並沒有因為巴黎而停留，在這座百年不甚改變的市景中，我開始學會如何改變心態來面對緩慢，來習慣等待時間、並渡過它。在日本我更是刺激了我怎樣在緊密的空間條件中感受到身體的壓迫，並想辦法利用彈性去面對空間的運用。細數這些生活歷程，長時間的獨處讓我深刻地體會如何從一個全然陌生、斷裂的文化中去認識、習慣自身的恐懼並將它成為我創作的養分，每一段體驗都是讓我在返回台灣後醞釀起不同階段的新發展。 Q. 二元之間的相互關係一直是你創作中的核心概念，你是從什麼時候開始在意這個概念的呢？有沒有什麼事件或是背景啟發了你？... Hi 聖文，此時此刻你正在想什麼？ S. 現在時間剛過凌晨，洗完澡躺在床上，思索著自己接下來這半年該何去何從（太會偷摸）。 Q. 你上次看電影時哭是什麼時候？ S. 去年孤味上映時，碰巧遇到奶奶逝世。 同樣在去年，當大家在家裡圍爐團聚時，我們在殯儀館籌備爺爺的後事。 當時奶奶也已久病不良於行，在家人攙扶下為爺爺拈香的畫面，佝僂的背影、蹣跚的腳步，與電影畫面如出一徹。 瞬間像是水杯被倒進了一缸水，滿溢的情緒讓我在回程路上哽咽不已。 說不上此生最難過，但至少是目前哭得最無法自拔的一次。 Q. 你認為自己最浪漫的部份是什麼？ S. 從來不覺得自己浪漫欸。 但如果廣義解釋浪漫的定義，我覺得自己很渺小，但夢想著擁抱山海給予的所有可能，然後再投以不成比例的成本，嘗試回饋些什麼吧。 Q. 一直以來你的作品都是環繞在台灣特有生物與環境議題，你是從什麼時候開始關注此議題？這些是如何成為你作品中的核心？ S. 真的回溯起源是6年前認識淨愛高山他們之後，但至於為什麼是台灣的生物與環境，只要是自認出身就是這塊島嶼一份子的人，應該都不難理解吧哈哈哈。 Q. 將這些的想法變成視覺形式的動力是什麼？為什麼你覺得這對你來說這麼重要呢？ S. 起初我也以為我重視的是視覺表現，後來我慢慢的體會到，我只是將我體驗到的、感動的，「縫」給你們看而已。我認為我表現的是我的行動，不單只限制視覺的感受。 Q.... Hi! 通常不會設鬧鐘，不過想到的事應該會是應該會是睡醒前的夢境發展。 Q. 生活作息如何影響到妳的創作？ W. 20-21 這一年因為原本韓國OCI駐村因疫情延遲，所以變成了繪畫媒材的再探索，還有開始學習油彩繪畫；而生活作息不太固定。可能影響到的事情，我目前只想到畫面比較沒有時序，而在畫畫的時候再下一步完成前也滿未知的樣子。 Q. 對於媒材間的互相轉換，妳有什麼新的體驗嗎？ W. 藉由不同的媒材體驗繪畫的樣貌，媒材有各自獨特的性格。它會帶著我產生適合繪製的畫面，跟我的想法溝通，很像認識一個幽靈朋友。 Q. 碎畫布系列的功能只是草圖嗎？它的不規則形能成為什麼嗎？ W. 從2014開始在台北市邊陲的小工作室裡，畫畫剪剪散落滿桌的畫布碎塊。在2020搬離台北之際，被整落起來。他們沾惹著濕氣與灰塵，鉛筆的線條與壓克力顏料快速地、抖動地附著在畫布上，在一閃而逝的日子標記起情感發生的時刻。 對我來說，如果繪畫不能作為語言，那說不出的話就變成眼淚。 它們有草圖、有完成的圖、寫生和隨筆。只是擁有同一個狀態，就是鉛筆、壓克力和從大畫布上隨意裁切的形狀，或是依著畫面構成而剪下的不規則形狀。 Q. 簽約之後的生活和經濟相對穩定？對於創作有什麼影響嗎？ W. 有的，尤其在疫情之下，感受更深。 因為伊日的自由度很高，所以有人能夠支持自己喜歡做的事，就像剛好的梅雨季。 Q. 妳的作品有和網路互動嗎？... 2019 FREE ART FAIR：LOVE
Art Fair 6 - 8 Dec 2019 「台北藝術自由日 Free Art Fair」今年邁入第五屆，12 月 6 日至 12 月 8 日將於松山文創園區 2、3 號倉庫盛大登場。本屆以「愛情神話」為題,主視覺由藝 術家詹雨樹操刀，匯集來自台灣、美國、南非、土耳其、中國、香港、日本、 新加坡及馬來西亞等地藝術家及創作團隊，超過 120 組的藝術作品計劃共同展演，透過充滿玩興的自由策展機制，讓藝術家們的創作思維顛覆常規，碰撞火花，展開一場天馬行空的狂歡派對！ 以愛為名，大玩跨域創作 「2019 台北藝術自由日」呼應本屆主題，以義大利國寶級導演費里尼盛名之電影「愛情神話」為視覺意象，打造五公尺高的巨大帳篷裝置，創造獨特的私密觀展體驗，讓觀者遊走其間，窺探暗藏作品中關於情感的千百種面貌。本次也吸引多位跨領域的創作者投件參展，如：演員孟耿如、貓下去負責人陳陸寬與裝置藝術組織 Super ADD 等，將各自帶來首度曝光的創作計劃。除了各類型作品展演，更邀請當代藝術收藏家宮津大輔，現場暢談日本當代藝術社群和學院教育。 一場沒有藝術家姓名的《自由心證》藝術拍賣會 此外，延續前四屆的亮點活動「自由心證拍賣會」，本次預計共 20 多件作品參與，藉由不公開創作者姓名的方式展出，僅以自身對於作品的評價為標價依據，讓觀眾以最主觀的方式，重新思考與定義藝術品的價值和收藏者之間的關係。同時，本屆特別邀請 6 位來自各領域的重量級評審：藝術收藏家宮津大輔、音樂人姚謙、策展人張君懿、藝術家黨若洪、安卓藝術總監李政勇及藝術家蕭聖健，將從 120...
