Chen Sheng-Wen: At the Edge of Coexistence
Solo Exhibition 1 May - 14 Jun 2026At the historic Wufeng Farmers’ Association—an institution with a history spanning over a century—Taiwanese artist Chen Sheng-Wen presents his latest exhibition *At the Edge of Coexistence*. Marking his first exhibition in this site, the project engages deeply with the agricultural context of his hometown. Using crushed longan shells as his primary material, Chen constructs a spatial and conceptual framework that draws from the perspective of bees in flight. Moving through orchards and across human-imposed boundaries, this imagined viewpoint reveals a layered landscape shaped by both natural processes and agricultural intervention. Rooted in close observation of local farming practices, the exhibition reflects on the evolving relationship between human activity and the natural environment. Through the transformation of organic material into dispersed particulate matter, Chen reconsiders how boundaries are formed, maintained, and ultimately unsettled. His works articulate a condition of constant negotiation—where coexistence is not fixed, but contingent, shifting between allowance and restriction.Read more -

New Normal: An Interview With Chen Sheng-Wen
...Read more -
