Keng Chieh-Sheng Taiwanese, b. 1989

For this year's Art Jakarta, YIRI ARTS presents Material Polyphony, a curatorial framework bringing together artists from Taiwan, Indonesia, and Japan. Spanning painting, sculpture, ceramics, installation, and interdisciplinary practices, the presentation examines the shifting relationships between material, body, and time.

Taiwanese artist Keng Chieh-Sheng's solo exhibition, Eccentric Landscape, is currently on view at the Chiayi Art Museum from August 11 to October 11, 2026. Taking tree rings as records of time beyond the scale of human experience, the exhibition explores how natural environments, human activity, and historical change collectively shape the growth of plants. The word "eccentric" refers both to trees' adaptive, off-center growth and to the particular outcomes produced by historical conditions and human choices.Taiwanese artist Keng Chieh-Sheng's solo exhibition, Eccentric Landscape, is currently on view at the Chiayi Art Museum from August 11 to October 11, 2026.
