Liao Yuan-Yi graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan University of Arts in 2018 and received a Master's degree in Integrated Arts and Sciences from Kyoto University of the Arts in 2023. His practice focuses on the quiet, subtle interactions within human relationships, as well as the emotional experiences shaped by moving between different cultures and places. Drawing on figures, spaces, and fragments observed in everyday life, he deconstructs and reassembles them through memory, feeling, and imagination, transforming them into images tinged with surrealism. These images retain familiar traces of the everyday while leaving room for imagination and association, allowing viewers to discover their own ways of seeing and feeling through personal experience. Working with embroidery, collage, and painting, he seeks to translate the ambiguous, silent, and often unspeakable emotional states within human relationships into forms that can be seen and felt.

His work has been selected for the Judges' Award of the "Our Museum Collection" at National Taiwan University of Arts, and received recognition at the Graduate Exhibition of Kyoto University of the Arts Institute.
