Art Taipei 2026 - MIT新人推薦特區: 顏政豪:夜與遠方的交點
Overview
Booth M08
YIRI ARTS is pleased to present Where Night Meets the Distance, a solo presentation by Yan Jheng-Hao in the MIT Emerging Artists Sector at ART TAIPEI 2026. Centered on large-scale paintings, the presentation continues Yan's exploration of the body, emotion, and cultural identity. Interweaving personal memory, everyday experience, and historical imagery, Yan constructs layered narratives between reality, mythology, and imagination, reflecting on the shifting nature of identity and belonging in an increasingly uncertain world.
In Yan's paintings, "night" evokes a perceptual state in which familiar structures begin to dissolve, while "distance" suggests desire, the unknown, and imagined futures. Boats drifting through the sky, figures rowing across the moon, and characters gazing toward distant horizons form psychological landscapes suspended between dreams and memories. Through the interplay of color and desire, body and form, Yan explores the complex emotional experiences of younger generations, examining intimacy, alienation, and longing while tracing the fluid boundaries of the subconscious and self-identity.
