Wu Wei-Ting Taiwanese, b. 1996

Wu Wei-Ting was born in Yunlin, Taiwan in 1996. He received a BA in Sculpture from the National Taiwan University of Arts and obtained a MA from the same department. Wu's art practice is centered on exploring the potential of perception on everyday objects. It may be driven from a simple event, or an ambiguous and unintelligible corner of space. From a simple material surface approach to spatial context, material and meaning, his work opens up the viewer's curiosity towards how space is conceived, perceived and lived in.

His works has received numerous awards include a "Excellence Award - Kaohsiung Award " by Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts in 2022, a "Jury Prize" by Taiwan Annual in 2020, a "Da Dun Prize - Third Prize" by Taichung City Government in 2018, a "Gold Award" by Sculpture Season, National Taiwan University of Arts in 2018, an "Excellence Award" by Anita Wong Foundation Creation in 2018, and a "Bronze Award" by The 7th International Shoebox Sculpture Exhibition, National Taiwan University of Arts in 2016.

His most important solo exhibitions include Mushroom Cloud, BACK_Y, Taipei (2022), Contact Surface, BACK_Y, Taipei (2022), Everything is Incomplete, FreeS Art Space, Taipei (2021), This Is a Turf-Style Carpet From_, Zone Art, Taoyuan (2020), and Through_Attach_Stay_, Hsinchu 241 Art Space, Hsinchu (2019).
