After spending more than a decade in the central and southern regions, with frequent trips to the north, I have become accustomed to spending a lot of time traveling. In fact, I have come to look forward to watching the scenery go by, daydreaming, and taking brief naps along the way.
As the scenery outside the window changes with the pace of the journey, each passing view is momentarily framed. To me, sitting quietly, having a frame is a hint of contemplation. However, gazing out the window can be tiring for the eyes. So, I spread my body into a comfortable shape, immerse my mind in the framed view, and let myself be absorbed by it. This state of being is a confluence of many thoughts and emotions, unfolding during the most comfortable moments of the journey.
In "Into The...," the canvas suggests the presence of a window frame. The powdered medium captures fleeting moments, hinting at a period of time, a point in the journey, or an event. It smooths out the folded emotions of the trip, allowing them to reach an ambiguous destination. Until the announcement sounds, the body awakens and lands elsewhere, rediscovering fragments of the journey in the act of creation.

Born in 1990 in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The artistic inspiration for Li Shih-Wen stems from a metabolic process of expressing life indirectly. Consequently, his creative endeavors serve as a means of preparing for life, becoming an outlet for inner spirituality. He composes a subtle narrative through personalized objects and images, forming an enigmatic discourse.
In Li Shih-Wen's works, we are invited to explore the mysteries of the world with a calm yet eager heart. As we observe, it's akin to a mirror reflecting our own experiences, projecting the paths of our self-existence. Throughout this process, one can discover the value and meaning of each individual within the imagery. When the inner spirit transforms into another manifestation, everything gradually surfaces and becomes visible.
