We are honored to present 'The Horseman on the Roof', a group exhibition that draws inspiration from Jean Giono's iconic 1951 French novel of the same name. This exhibition is curated as a homage to the novel's timeless story, and aims to invite viewers on a thought-provoking journey of introspection and discovery.

The novel tells the story of a young idealistic revolutionary and a courageous soldier who is forced into exile due to a duel. On his return journey home to Provence, he is confronted by the devastating effects of a cholera epidemic that has engulfed the region. The lockdown, isolation, and suffering of the victims are vividly described, as are the reactions of the terrified inhabitants of one village who believe that someone is deliberately infecting their water.

In a moment of desperation, the soldier climbs onto the roof of a nearby building, where he spends the night with a street tabby as his only companion. This encounter leads him to a chance meeting with the leading actress of the story, and sets the stage for an unforgettable tale of love, survival, and human connection.

Through a series of six unique works of art, this exhibition seeks to evoke the emotions and themes of Giono's novel. Just as the novel's narrative unfolds gradually, so too will the exhibition, with new works being added to the display on a regular basis.

Visitors to the exhibition can expect to encounter a dynamic and ever-changing space, as the curators work to incorporate new works that deepen our understanding of the novel's themes and motifs. From sculptures to installations and performances, each work of art is designed to transport viewers to a world that is both familiar and surreal.
