Daniel Sueiras Fanjul was born in Spain in 1976. He obtained a Master’s degree in Sculpture from the University of Fine Arts in Santa Isabel de Hungría in 2000. His Baroque-like portraits of anthropomorphic animals and famous cartoon characters are almost like a satirical ode to their greatness in the unexpected seriousness and dignity of their costumes, as well as the realistic and subtle capture of their facial expressions. Daniel Sueiras Fanjul demonstrates the thin line between humanity and bestiality via their absurdist sense of conflict.
He has exhibited widely, including solo exhibitions at BACK_Y, Taipei (2022), Galerie Artmundi, Paris (2019), Bea Villamarin Gallery, Gijon (2018), YIRI ARTS, Kaohsiung (2016), Gallery Juliane Hundertmark, Berlin (2014), and Marita Segovia Gallery, Madrid (2012). Group exhibitions include Moret Art Gallery, A Coruña (2013), Puerta Tierra Museum, Cádiz (2012), Riihimäki Art Museum, Riihimäki, Finland (2011), Marita Segovia Gallery, Madrid (2009), and Oude Kerk, Amsterdam (2007).
