Guim Tió Zarraluki is a Spanish artist born in Barcelona in 1987. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. Guim Tió Zarraluk's previous works focused on deconstructing the features of models in fashion magazines to expose the false aesthetics dictated by the mass media through digitally manipulated images. In 2017, his series ‘Unreal Spaces’ shifted to a more inward exploration, using the natural environment to shape human expressions and create inner landscapes. His colorful landscapes are like delusions of grandeur, carrying the emotions and desires of individuals, providing a respite from the powerlessness and depression of harsh social realities.
Guim Tió Zarraluk has exhibited widely, including solo exhibitions at YIRI ARTS, Taipei, from 2013 to 2022, Ruttkowski;68, New York, USA in 2023, Artside Gallery in Seoul in 2022 to 2024, 19 Karen Gallery in Gold Coast, Australia in 2015, Loppis Gallery in Parma, Italia in 2013, Miscelanea Gallery in Barcelona in 2012, Artevistas Gallery in Barcelona in 2011, and Centro Civico del Guinardo in Barcelona in 2010. His work has been well received, and he continues to explore the relationship between humans and nature through his art.
