YIRI ARTS is pleased to present Wang Yen-Ran in ART TAIPEI 2025’s MIT sector. Anchored in the artist’s long-term inquiry into the tension between factory-style production and studio making, the presentation brings together key series from recent years.
Referencing standardized sanitary-ware forms—sinks, traps, basins, toilet bowls—extracted from their original contexts, Wang reframes these ubiquitous “civilizational shapes” as abstract sculpture. Rather than how such objects are used, Wang asks why they are shaped as they are, distilling a sculptural vocabulary that reflects social change and the pursuit of efficiency, while preserving space for subjective interpretation.
