"Awakening From A Deep Sleep" documents Taiwanese artist Sun Pei-Mao's creative journey from 2011 to 2023. Beginning with experiments in color, he delicately portrays "film-like" scenes with vivid colors that evoke an Eastern impression. However, after the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, Sun Pei-Mao underwent profound reflection and transformation in his work. He incorporated a significant amount of black and white elements, deepening his exploration of diverse themes and compositions in an intuitive manner. "Awakening From A Deep Sleep" invites readers into Sun Pei-Mao's unique artistic world, offering an intimate glimpse into his process and practice.
