BACK_Y is pleased to announce the first exhibition of Mayuko Ose in Taiwan: Teaching the Shape of the Moon.
This exhibition continues with her usual black shadow human figures as the mundane subject to showcase her observation and personal reflection on daily life. This new series explores the inevitably coincidental moments in life. As Ose said, "The world continues to go on. I come to cherish everything that inevitably passes by to me at this very moment." This very moment of interlacing different happenings is what inspires her— people passing by on the street, people sitting next to you waiting for a car, birds flying in the sky, snakes swimming in the river—all of which exist within the same dimension and time. It is this essence that the artist would like to record and capture.
