Peng Wei: Unveiling Page One: Solo Exhibition
"The First Page" stems from a curiosity about the imagination on a flat plane. Through a process of shifting and transition, the realities of everyday experience are transformed into painting. Observations made from the street, landscapes seen through a car window, and the views within an apartment garden are all integrated into a continuous system of observation and creation.
This exhibition is divided into two parts:
One section draws inspiration from ephemeral elements such as sunlight, wind, and plein air sketching.
The other part brings together daily acts of looking-through the traces of labor on white paper, the film on a viewfinder, and images that are clearly blurred-allowing the experience of everyday attention to converge here through slowed-down viewing and close-range focus.
